The Renaissance Golf Experience

The Renaissance Club (TRC) nestles on 300 acres of the famous golfing coastline of the Firth of Forth.

Immediately adjacent to the west of TRC is the world famous Muirfield golf course owned by the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers (HCEG). To the east are 36 holes of golf known as Archerfield Links designed by European Senior Tour professional David J. Russell. Slightly further east is another world-renowned golf course named North Berwick West Links.

At one time TRC made up a portion of the 1000 acres of Archerfield Estate, a famous and historic property that includes an old manor home from the 17th century. The club is the only portion of the estate that still remains on the natural windswept dunes common to the links terrain along this coastline.

The estate is of great historic interest to Scotland, and this is why its restoration was a prerequisite in the planning approvals for The Renaissance Club. The area is also considered a “green belt” zone along the coast, normally prohibited from development. Renaissance received its development approvals and exceptions for golf and lodging to help it fund the improvements and restoration to the original designed landscape of the estate.
